Melaka! retreat updates: expected some physical training (actually more on losing weight) but ended up gorging on 5-star breakfast, lunch AND dinner for 4days,3nights. *faints i gained a kilo and a half:(:(:( and the 4hour discovery walk we had in our area was so tiring cos I forgot to bring proper shoes and ended up dragging my feet around in the new pair of white slippers i got from Bangkok earlier on. sigh, my calves hurt like crazy.
amazing fact no. 1: I (the sleep at 2am and get up at 11am fella) managed to get up at 5.15am every morning and be down at ballroom by 6am sharp for worship+solitude without falling asleep for even a second. Vivien is a very good human alarm, haha. *now i have to re-tune my sleep clock for my night shift work at changi, bah*
Was put under Pastor Kelly's group for this re-encounter, really enjoyed the little time we had over meals and our chendol break; and conversations with her. Besides Pastor FeiFei, she's the next person (I think)who really has a heart for people. She was always so cheerful (even though the weather was making us go almost mad), at the end of the day she gave every member a card with both pastor victor's and her face on it.
delighting fact no.1: the chendol is super ordinary except for the gula that made it so shiok! the cost price of RM2 made it even better:) see, just looking at it makes u feel so good already. the uncle said his was the best and even offered extra gula syrup for us to indulge in. haha.
we also had the famous chicken rice balls everyone in melaka were talking about. the chicken was tender and the veggies tasted smooth, but the main dish was B.a.d - the rice balls tasted squashed together and were soggy and tastless. yucks, i think i ate 5 balls cos cannot waste la - hmm think the shop name is FAMOUSA chicken rice balls, bleah.
that's pastor kelly and Loy(one of my groupmates) - he's under pastor victor. i think their tribe are a very happy bunch of pple, always smiling.
pS:pastor kelly so cute right?
THEN comes the formal dinner. had to learn waltz (beginner's only la) in 15 minutes. think very difficult cos all the guys were so much taller(than me), then cannot balance properly haha. anyway I really thought it was really fun (the dressing up part) until we had to go into the ballroom for the real thing. the roses la, cheeeeessssy note that comes along with the note, the gentlemen thing (pulling chair in-and-out for the ladies, serving us food), the "may i have the honour to dance with u" line, the i-cannot-reject-any-guy-who-asks-for-a-dance mindset that we were adviced to embrace wholeheartedly, the bow-and-curtsy thing after every dance, FAINTS. my guy partner was super serious and I just kept laughing from the start, super cheesy:/ but i think he's quite a pro cos he got the appropriate amount of dinner for me - Pastor Jeffrey was teaching this guy at my table how to get food for this girl because that guy got too much food for her and she didn't finish la, think it's enough to feed a cow, pengs.
anyway had FUN somehow la. although i was super sleepy after dinner and wanted to go back to the hotel room to sleep, I suddenly realised that the guys in youthnet 288 were quite good-looking, but so many married or attached already(Viv said, haha) and so i stayed to look and observe . . . . .
haha, kidding. not entirely the main reason i stayed.
oh well, going to play with Daren tmr:) he's FOUR months already!!!!and weighs a good 7.3kg (i think) so better carry him b4 he gets toooo heavy for me:)
