tell me, is this picture considered 'HOT'? omg, i'm soooo going to faint and die of total embarassment!

look here http://www.stomp.com.sg/stink/teacher_awards.html and you'll get what i mean.you want a bigger laugh? go look at the polls and the posts. I had to find out from Christian, of all people (of course i dun mean it in a bad way larr, just that i dun really know him u know, i think he was trying to stifle a laugh when he told me anyway.....) haha, ok larr go ahead and laugh. yes its cheesy and crazy! but i rather be a contestant for a 'cute' teacher or something... hot? i am so going to be the laughing stock of the year. ok larr, my students are just being sweet larr. sigh, what am i getting myself into....

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BY THE WAY! i rebonded my hair today! no pictures yet, cos kenny says i look like Julian - faints. my mum suggested to take a picture with him. haha, anyway i DO LOOK CUTE OK!looks something like this yupp.

cute right?! i named this picture: 10 years old. you can laugh cos i'm cute, but not because it's *whatever* - hint hint: kenny tan better watch out! haha. i know all the bad things u said..tsk tsk.

steph said that when i went online. i really rushed out to see if there was really a blue moon in the sky. diao goons me. didn't think she was refering to ME. ya, i came online for a purpose - to discuss with log head kelvin about games and log stuff to prepare - if not i would be offline (duh) enjoying my shows. but anyway thanks girl u really helped me for the games :)

on my list: Las Vegas Season 2 and 3 and korean dramas 1,2,3,4..... still trying to fill up my 80GB hard disk for shows only haha.

anyway it's really kinda blue moonish today.my little bro just made for me a cup of hot lemonade with a touch of class (he tried to make it look professional with that slice of lemon on the cup mouth) hha.

this is how it looks like:

so sweet hor. came in real nice cos i'm having a blocked nose and throat irritation. this really soothed it real good:) sometimes my bro is just so sweet, maybe he's just grown up. no more olden days of "feel like bashing him" anymore. haha, ONE lemonade does the trick. what a softie haha.

same old thing, but with different crowd this time. syl, zr and zm. (more and more guy friends either zhen/zheng/z something)

haha anyway really enjoyed:) shopping, makan,manicure/pedicure and a few dvds, and the RM8 movie - we watched click.

yes, go watch Click. it's not entirely about the story line BUT the thing is about the meaning behind it all - Family comes first, learn how to appreciate the little things in your life, dun rush through it all.

was really touching esp when he kept replaying the scene where his father tells him that he loves him, even though..... you go and watch larr. no spoilers here:)

spent S$100 on clothes, food and other stuff. haha, syl is happy with her sports shoes i got for her - she better be:) and now we know zr to be our makan buddy - he eats anything and everything!

got to try the woodlands link seafood next time. that's when he gets his license AND a car. yeah.

THE first course of Pastor Benny's I attended was "10 keys to choosing a Life Partner". the recent one (2nd one for me) was "Practical Keys to Mentoring".

really learnt some pointers here and there. Pastor Benny's really engaging:) the $4 was squeezed to its maximum. seemed to small a fee. guess he just wants to bless us:) oh anyway, some of the pointers really really seem to be guides (in disguise heh heh) for BGR relationships. haha, see for yourself.. Pastor's pointers vs ours.

ideas on how to initiate a mentoring relationship:

ONE
Pastor: Call the prospect up and ask to see him about a specific issue.
US: Call the cute prospect up and ask him to help you in this question that you're stuck at, or maybe your project needs some extra input which you really think he can help you with.

TWO
Pastor: Affirm his/her expertise and ask him to help you develop yours.
US: Do the same thing but the main idea is - Persistance. Really works. (but note: don't hit on him/her yet) you need help in your project, remember? (refer to number ONE if you dun tsk tsk.)

THREE
Pastor: Ask for feedback on the area that you want him to help you.
US: Do the same thing but don't be too hard on him/her UNLESS it's a nerd/nerdette we're talking about here. cos they'll be really flattered that you are seeking their advice and everything. but come again, you must be quite mad also.

FOUR
Pastor: Turn up when there are structured opportunity to interact with him.
US: same thing. we're lacking of some creativity here. sigh.

FIVE
Pastor: If he offers you a meeting, take it up.
US: Ah, in this case. He/she is giving you the number to contact them, meaning there IS hope! you are this close to your goal!

SIX(and final)
Pastor: Ask him about his mentoring experience as a bridge.
US: Ask him/her about their past relationships (but becareful on that, not very advisable cos that fellow might very well still be crazy over his/her previous beau) WE advice to ask them about the kind of qualities and characteristics they like in a bf/gf, you know, strike conversation. yeah

Results!
Pastor: You have just successfully initiated a mentoring relationship:)
US: you MIGHT get yourself a cute bf/gf. BUT at your own risks. we're just kidding around. haha...

ps: what say YOU? similar right? you just have to take the "mentoring" word away and add in more pointers. haha, whoever tries OUR ideas and succeeds, let me know k:)

NUS triathlon - Sunday 13 August 2006 - my first try at a triathlon. hmm, i do like the cycling leg, wasn't as chiong as i had expected it to be. initially when told that it was going to be 25km instead of the 20km we had expected it to be i almost peng-ed. plus the morning "warm-up" i had cycling down to the lagoon, i think i cycled a total of 32km on Sunday.

a pity it wasn't very well organised. i mean, i thought it would be better than OSIM but seemed otherwise. countless pple fell: zc got a small scratch on his thigh (an injury nevertheless) and a cyclise behind me went "bham!" into the barricade (the orange one if i remember correctly) and he fell off his bike, double ouch. also, an ambulance had to use our lane - guess there were worse injuries....

troubles never have an end. the bike i used (zc's) was so much faster than my bro's (the one i had planned to use initially) but the chain had something against me and was de-railed 3 times! but yes, it's another experience larr so... oh well, at least i'm quite a pro at putting chains back right?hm.

faints, then we went for service after that and by the end of the day i was in bed from 6pm all the way til the next morning for work(waking up only for toilet breaks and for my dinner) plus neck aches and headache. whew, but still it was a great experience full of fun and excitement i would never pass for anything else.

yupp, go join a tri if u have the chance, if u like it then u'll know what i mean:)

next up: New Balance Real Run @ Sentosa 20th August 2006 - 10km sand, trail and road. yee har! let's get moving pple!

MUAR was an excellent weekend getaway. to meet God in such a special way and to really have a good good rest (own time own target for everything! yeehar:>) I went to MUAR expecting to stay up late for meetings with pastor over some agenda or something but when we got there God planned everything. everything was to be own-time-own-target.. it was purely to be a prayer encounter.

really thank God:) i went there with a rather heavy heart (problems larr)and thinking abt the "meetings" made me feel so tired on the bus ride to muar.

BUT yes, God is so good. on our first night we had worship and I just poured it all out to Him, and the simple worship we had was so beautiful, really special and personal; we sang our hearts out with no restrain or any worldly worries. After all, our worship is for Him and Him alone, Amen!

then the 2nd night, pastor told us to read Lamentations 3, which was the exact word I was waiting for, from the Lord. it really spoke right to me and again, I was so amazed.

vs22: The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.
vs23: Great if His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each day.
vs24: I say to myself,"The Lord is my inheritance, therefore, I will hope in Him!"

and Viv's sharing of the word from Psalms 34 further confirmed the previous word.

really thank Him and Him alone:)

and Yes, the plucking of the rambutan was so fun. haha, must experience it yourself. plus the fig we ate, so fresh and interesting. hope we can go down again b4 it is closed down, want to see if Pastor's tomato plant makes it good.

:)

thank God I hosted the Sri Lankan delegates this year. it was great fun knowing them and getting to attend to them - we introduced them to otah,rojak,jellyfish,ondeh-ondeh.. this year only 3 ladies: Shanilah (i'm gonna miss her!she's so cute haha), Kanchanna and Dashini. the last night we hosted them at Zheng Rong's house. super fun also lars.. i still can't believe Syl and I managed to get up at 4.20am exactly for our prayer slots til 5am.

AM ok not PM. faints i am NOT a morning person man...

i SO SO SO SO have to go Sri Lanka one day. the place seems really really nice!! must ask pastor if he's planning to bring the network down there some day. (heh the shopping should be fun i think, i dun think i'll mind the curry for all the meals, and they say the water there doesn't flow out properly..hmm can relive the days of camping, no need to bathe, maybe mud bath haha)

hmm maybe we should go sri lanka for prayer, not muar? haha, whatever larr..tmr is the muar thing and i'm still lagging behind. (i still think it's next week. stupid pam..) oh gcyc was quite good. even though the worship songs were used excessively, it really was ministering to so many people! love the original laksa, durian puff and taukwa pao.

OH i still remember one incident at yesterday's city hunt.. the Japanese pastor took one durian puff and chewed in his mouth. His face changed colour (gradually) then he couldn't take the 'smell' anymore so he spit it out. HAHA, after that we bought more to share around, he was sitting on the stairs looking really washed out. when we offered him some, he gave us an embarrassed smile then ran away. poor pastor shingo. Dashini also told me:"you hold that thing, you GO away!" haha. super funny responses larr..maybe they should have eaten the durian fruit instead of the puff. might have tasted better. haha

yes, very tired from the conference although for the first 2 days i only went after work + tuition.
imgine: 7-3pm school, 4-6pm tuition, 7-10pm GCYC. (this went on for two continuous days larr)

buay tahan so i took leave on wednesday to enjoy GCYC and city hunt thoroughly. was a good decision made.

alright. looking forward to MUAR for a good time of prayer:) will be back for service.
