my tuition kid is turning lame as well. scary how its starting young.

he asked if i wanted water today, ended up giving me half cup of cold water only. he said there was only so much left... nvm, he promised to give more later, saying that i will have so much to drink that i will be drenched from head to toe. crazy kid, didn't know what he was refering to until he went down to get me 7-up.

he thought it was funny when i took a big gulp, thinking it was water. then he said, see alot of water right, don't u feel drenched already?

then he explained that the 7-up advertisements last time used to show the cartoon fellow swimming in pools of 7-up meaning that with 7-up u'll never be thirsty blah blah...so he was trying to be lame by referring to that.

ok, don't understand right? nvm, he deserves some points for trying.

he asked me to get him a word search book, so cute right? i promised to give him if he did well in his next test when school reopens. haha.

korean language classmate treated us to japanese food! one set $20 at least that kind, super nice lar. cos he got 2.2 month bonus so he's feeling nice :)

here's him looking coy (he looks old but is 24 only, poor guy) haha

and here's how my food looked like, their lettuce is so well shredded and free flow! but had too much to eat lar, haha. look at jean's healthy meal - it has a super disgustingly huge onion! (i don't like onions, yucks)

...also went to watch eragon with the rest of them, quite ok lar, considering that the author is a 16 year old kid. what an imaginative mind he has, thought the dragon quite sexy... don't mind catching the next 2 parts of the 'inheritance trilogy'. anyway next up would be night in the museaum starring ben stiller, think it's going to be a great movie, the trailer's really funny lar. haha..

and we played mahjong at andrew's place again! this time record breaking of 12 hours :) surprising how we don't peng~ and andrew even more 'lihai', he stays in the same seat, eats at the same seat and doesn't need any toilet breaks at all for 12 hours straight, amazing lar, must be those soccer nights that train him. anyway enjoy this picture of this fella sleeping, guess who ya, so poor thing must sleep under the chairs while we're playing...

haha, no prizes for the correct guess!

new phone from dad - he says it's for my birthday present next year - cute lar, like to give early presents...but at least it what i want so i'm not complaining:)

k800i! the price dropped from $368 to $198! super long queue at singtel, before realising that the k800i has gone out of stock. thank God there was another handphone shop selling the same price just across the singtel shop.

here's a picture of my tuition kid - my first pics taken with my 3.2 megapix k800i :) the quality rocks man!

haha cute right? smart kid - been teaching him for 2 years already(since pri 1). he couldn't speak english properly when i took him the first time:)

oh this was done on his arm cos i was bored - the initials of his name plus a smiley face:)
and as you see he likes it alot! macham some super hero and i'm not bullying him ya:) haha

anyway this kid's dad passed away in an accident 2 years back and his mum lives in jb so he is under the care of his aunts. he always get scolding and beatings from his aunts for making mistakes and cries when his mum comes to visit cos he misses her so much. today he even told me how happy he was cos he would be going back to malaysia after his PSLE. i guess his aunts care for him in a certain way but their method is too harsh, think they kinda blame him for his dad's death too - he told me so himself. sigh, anyway i try to help him as much as possible lar, he's like a little brother - i reward him with gifts and sweets and he'll give me nice chocolates that his relatives bought from overseas. so cute right. i recall him giving me one of his reader's badge cos he read alot of books and got too many badges; he likes to use my pens to do his work as well, dunno why lar funny boy; he likes to do homework as well (or maybe he has no choice cos i give him alot under his aunt's instructions) haha:)

when you try to make everyone happy, you can't.
when you try to make it up for something u've done, you're never good enough.
when you try to do this or that, you always get something else.
so why do we even try?

i'm sick of trying to do this and that. really, sometimes nothing seems to be the best of our abilities no matter how hard we try. people and places and things which used to be where i find comfort in, are no longer what they are. instead they've become things which make me doubt and lose hope and even more.

you're great friends/family/great help one day, the next moment you're spiting/grabbing each other by the neck/screaming the hell out at one another.. who can you count on now?

back from grandma's birthday dinner at some stupid buffet restaurant. stupid being the idea of even having the dinner there! 40 pple all separated into their own family - to each his own. i barely talked or even greeted half of my relatives. i'm sick of always being the first one to greet, and having to receive those scorns/fake smiles/eyes-rolling.

for example, one cousin came and left immediately because she didn't feel like there were seats for her. ya, it was a little messy because everyone were put into different tables but the point is she just left, like that. rude. but it seems she thought she had the right because she was kind of the sole care-giver of granny.

another one, p4 boy with his stuck-up sec 3 sister. these kids have the noisiest father who boasts of everything and their mum keeps to herself, one who is guilty of fake smile, but really his kids are just poorly brought up or maybe were instilled too much self confidence and pride by their great almighty dad. they never ever ever take the initiative to greet or talk to pple. the sister simply rolls her eyes whenever i see her at dinners, fine nvm. the boy will walk around but he never greets unless u make him. to think we even babysat them when they were younger.

here's the one and only conversation i had with him today. maybe not conversation cos it requires two pple to respond to each other right? it seemed like he wasn't really responding, oh well it shows a great lot.

me: John Lim, come here! (i repeated 2 times b4 he turned, stared and walked over)
boy: what.
me: how old are you already?
boy: 11.
me: oh, don't they teach you how to greet your elders in school?
boy: -dumbfounded- -walks back to his table without greeting of course-

there, my relatives from the dark side.

oh, did i mention another cousin who lives 4 floors above us? no i didn't. i've only gone over to his place twice: to see baby and borrow comp. not invited. we invite ourselves over. when we see them in lifts it's so akward i rather spend the extra seconds waiting for another lift. we either say 'hi' then wait for me to say 'bye' OR i ask where they're going/how's the baby blah.... the questions repeat themselves although i already know the answers to them. oh well, my cousins on the 10th floor.
so, today when his nice sister told us that we could get a ride from him back home - the only thing i saw was unwillingness. i think she knew why when i said no immediately, but really i felt so much at ease taking the bus home. it's better than 20 minutes of silence in the car - sheer ****

haiya, i can't wait for the christmas gathering with the bright side of the family - my dad's side folks are the best folks man. my cousin always try to give me advice and show her concern - it's more than those little makan times and shopping trips. it seems she's the only one who totally understands why i can't get along with her and can relate with me about almost anything else.. haha she's the one who told me abt church guys being like uncut diamonds. she's like the da jie i never had la. even her hubby's nice - when she grumbles abt him not showing her respect, i'm shocked. like i said, it's too much of the dark side..

and though it's half the number of folks, it's double the noise and fun! ya, she doesn't enjoy that much over here cos she's been in the dark side too long. but it's all laughter, joy and music with them, the real christmas ain't it?

sigh, thank God not-so-nice relatives are only twice a year.

went for dinner with Miss Ebony Bae, Alan, Zhi Xun and Jean at Waraku Restaurant in East Coast Park today!:)

what a refreshing time, we learnt so much more about the Korean people: how they treasure ties; the way they keep their word - even a small thing (to us Singaporeans) like meeting your friends on time means alot to them!

and Alan is so nice lar, insisted on giving us a treat for the dinner at Waraku when i told him to settle with us regarding the bill.

must bring more titbits for class to share with them:)

meanwhile i'm avoiding rice for awhile. after 4 days of packet rice for both lunch and dinner non-stop, i'm quite scared of rice. it's noodle for now:) and yes, i saw mr chen zc @ the fair too. gave me the sian face when i was feeling even more sian at work. sigh.

urghs. this thing can't have korean words on it! faints.

u startin to act wierd.slow down.i like things the way they were. i'll just b nice :)

working at the IT show-2nd day now.. got the job through jean. basic $30 + commission. lunch and dinner included. not bad lar considering the quality of the food. a pity the fella in charge of us is from china (her english is quite confusing sometimes) and mean and likes to put us down for not selling enough becos we dun have the right attitude and correct selling techniques blah blah blah.... faints. that's so not true lar! thanks to some guys who snatch customers, tsk tsk.

so far only sold 2 notebooks, but hopefully those customers who 'promised' to return would do so and look for me!

at least while working, i do not spend money at all except on transport heh. save money u know! i stay at home also spend money, somehow... at least imy 4 days are put to better use, rather than sitting around at home thinking of what have i not done yet.. typical me.

saw mr lee (sec3 english teacher) - he lost weight but hair getting whiter!he ain't even 40 right? hmm. anyway he's so cute la, he used to be called bouncing fishball, always so cheerful and his lessons were fun, although i can't remember much abt them.haha

also saw ms phoebe leong (sec1 english teacher) - still as fussy - haha, remember we used to call her HL milk - hairy legs. she had longer hair than others, oh well, she made me prefect so i should thank her for the extra cca points.

also met xiu zhen (i still can't believe how diff she looks from sec school) also saw felix (feli's brother), my colleague was wondering why this boy kept staring at me wierdly, felix lar. funny boy.

hm... seems like the only comfort i have left is having free ice cream from the trade-in fellows, plus IT show guys quite ok to look at.

oh, those ham-sap ones can come in the afternoon to look at half clothed santarinas giving out free stuff and dancing for your eyes only.haha

look for me at HP counter (behind singtel) k, i will give u free ice cream:)haha try ya..
